My neighbor and friend Jerry McLeese and I are writing a book on faith in all the ways that it affects life: religious faith, secular faith, and faith in yourself. We believe having faith enough to overcome the risk of uncertainty is a cornerstone in building a good and productive life. The book will chronicle Jerry’s journey toward the exercise of his religious and socially conscious secular faith within the United Methodist Church; however, this is not a book about religious faith alone, which too often is what is meant by the expression “the faithful.” Our plans are to interview a wide range of people from the Triad who have made significant contributions to our city, our state, and our nation. That will be the major portion of the book and we have an extensive list of names already. But we don’t want to leave anyone out simply because we didn’t think of them. So, we are asking if you have recommendation(s) about someone(s) who deserve(s) recognition and our appreciation. You can tell us directly by emailing either or, if it is more convenient, just by commenting at the bottom of this post, giving us the name(s) of your nominee(s) and how to get in touch with them. Any reasons as to why you think your nominee(s) should be included would be most welcome.
